We are partnering with a prestigious law firm to find a talented Financial Analyst to join their growing team. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable experience in the world of legal finance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and suggest cost-saving tactics tailored to the legal field, such as refining partner compensation structures and streamlining billing procedures.
- Create and deliver comprehensive reports that highlight key performance indicators (KPIs), including practice group profitability, client matter realization rates, and overall firm efficiency.
- Assess and consolidate financial data (budgets, partner compensation structures, profitability reports for practice groups, etc.) to evaluate the financial well-being of the firm and its alignment with strategic objectives.
- Design financial models customized to the landscape of the Am Law 200, taking into account variables like lateral hiring, client focus, and potential litigation costs.
- Perform benchmarking analyses to gauge the firm's performance against industry peers and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Track actual results against forecasts for critical metrics like partner distributions and total revenue to detect variances and potential risks.
- Scrutinize law firm-specific ledger accounts, such as work in progress (WIP) and unbilled receivables, to ensure precise financial reporting.
- Stay abreast of developments in the legal sector and adopt best practices in financial management for law firms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required).
- Familiarity with the legal industry or professional service firms (a plus).
- Strong Excel skills and financial modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
